A Message Regarding the Dr Pepper StarCenter in Duncanville
As many reading this have undoubtedly heard by now, the Dr Pepper StarCenter in Duncanville will be closing its doors on October 1, 2009. The building, which belongs to the City of Duncanville, will be converted into a basketball facility and will reopen in early 2010.
The Dallas Stars remain committed to promoting and growing the sport of hockey in the D/FW Metroplex. Over the past several months, the Stars and the City tried hard to find a way to keep the rink open. Many of our customers worked diligently to help us in this endeavor, and we are very appreciative of their efforts and enthusiastic support, which was truly overwhelming. In the end, the City opted to pursue a new tenant. We certainly understand this and are grateful to them for their support throughout the years and in recent weeks as we tried to work things out.
We extend our thanks to the many families who have supported the rink throughout the years. We truly wish there were more of you. We also want to assure anyone who is currently enrolled in a program that we will offer you a couple of options moving forward. One way or another, rest assured that you will be fully reimbursed for any program that gets cut short by our closure. If you have not been already, you will be contacted by one of our staff to discuss your choices in this regard.
If you have not been contacted by September 28th, please call us at 972-283-9133, ext 222 and speak to Christy about your options. We hope that you will not abandon this great sport, and we promise to do whatever we can to help anyone who wants to continue skating at another Dr Pepper StarCenter.
Sincerely,
Ed Reusch
