BEGINNER SKATING SCHOOL CLASSES
For the Fall Semester
The following classes are recommended
For skaters who have never taken Instructional lessons before.
ICE TOTS 1 (Ages 3 & 4) This class will introduce your child to skating, emphasizing the proper way to fall and get up, marching while standing, and forward marching across the ice. Dips, forward skating, balance and control will also be introduced. Open to skaters 3-4 yrs old. Helmets are highly recommended for this class. This class meets for 30 minutes once a week at the following times:
- Tuesday 5:45-6:15pm -Saturday 10:00-10:30am
PRE-ALPHA 1 (Ages 5 & Up) This class is designed for the beginning skater who has never taken formal instruction before. Students will learn basic forward and backward skating, swizzles, one foot glides and snowplow stops. Pre Alpha 1 classes are divided up by age groups (5-6 yrs old) and (7 + yrs old). This class meets for 30 minutes once a week at the following times:
- Tuesday 5:45-6:15pm - Saturday 10:00-10:30am
PRE HOCKEY (Ages 5-13 yrs)
This class is for the Advanced skater interested in playing hockey. This class follows the Advanced Tot and Pre-Alpha 2, Students will learn more advanced foward and backward skating, one foot glides, foward crossovers and stopping. Hockey Helmets with a cage are highly recommended for this class. HOCKEY SKATES ARE REQUIRED IN THIS CLASS.
5-6 yr olds:
- Tuesday 5:45-6:15pm
7 + yrs olds:
- Tuesday 6:15-6:45pm
All ages:
- Saturday 9:30 - 10:00am
ADULT 1 No Experience Required! This introductory class takes you through the basic steps of skating. You may simply want to learn how to skate across the ice with out falling down or you may want to be jumping and spinning by the end of the semester. You can take to what ever level you want. This class meets for 30 minutes once a week at the following times:
- Tuesday 6:15-6:45pm - Saturday 10:00-10:30am
FAMILY FUN CLASS**(Not currently in session this semester)**
This class is for the family who would like to learn to skate together. This is a great class for young children that might not be ready for a group class atmosphere without mom or dad there, Or for brother and sisters of different ages! With each Child’s registration, one parent can skate to help their child during the class. With each child’s registration, one parent can skate to help their child during the class. Open to skaters 3-6 yrs old. This is a specialty class, 10 weeks for $162.50. Helmets are highly recommended for this class. (ONE skater per ONE parent per registration, ONE name tag is included per family registration) This class meets for 30 minutes once a week at the following times:

ADVANCED SKATING SCHOOL CLASSES
For the 2010 Fall Semester
ICE TOTS 2 (Ages 3-4) For skaters who have completed ICE TOTS 1. Students will start to learn forward skating, swizzles, backward wiggles, and snowplow stops. Helmets are highly recommended for this class. This class meets for 30 minutes once a week at the following times:
- Tuesday 5:45-6:15pm
- Saturday 10:00-10:30am
ADVANCED TOTS (Ages 3-4) For young skaters who have completed ICE TOTS 1 & 2. The curriculum will follow the Pre-Alpha 1 & 2 levels. This class meets for 30 minutes once a week at the following times:
- Tuesday 5:45-6:15pm - Saturday 10:00-10:30am
PRE-ALPHA 2 (Ages 5 & Up) This class is for skaters who have completed Pre-Alpha 1 and may not be ready for the alpha or Hockey 101 level. Skaters will continue to progress using Pre-Alpha 1 curriculum and beyond. This class meets for 30 minutes once a week at the following times:
- Tuesday 5:45-6:15pm - Tuesday 6:15-6:45pm
-Saturday 9:30-10:00am
ADULT 2 (Ages 14 & Up) Adult skaters that have completed Adult 1 and would like to further their skating skills such as Forward Crossovers, one foot snowplow stops, Forward stroking and basic jumps and spins. This class meets for 30 minutes once a week at the following times:
- Tuesday 6:15-6:45pm
- Saturday 10:00-10:30am

ISI FIGURE SKATING SCHOOL CLASSES
For The
2010 Fall SEMESTER
ALPHA LEVEL In the Alpha class skaters will learn controlled forward stroking, forward crossovers and one-foot snowplow stops. This class meets for 30 minutes once a week at the following times:
- Tuesday 6:15-6:45pm - Saturday 9:30-10:00am
BETA LEVEL In the Beta level skaters will focus on backwards stroking, backward crossovers and T-stops. This class meets for 30 minutes once a week at the following times:
- Tuesday 6:15-6:45pm - Saturday 9:30-10:00am
GAMMA LEVEL In the Gamma Level skaters will focus on, Forward outside three turns, Mohawks, hockey stops will be taught in the Gamma level. This class meets for 30 minutes once a week at the following times:
- Tuesday 6:15-6:45pm - Saturday 9:30-10am
DELTA LEVEL In the Delta Level skaters will focus on forward inside 3 turns, forward edges, lunges, shoot the ducks and lunges. This class meets for 30 minutes once a week at the following times:
- Tuesday 6:15-6:45pm - Saturday 9:30-10:00am
FREESTYLE WORKSHOP
This class is designed for the skater who has passed Delta. The skater will learn elements in Freestyle 1-4.
-Saturday 9:30-10:00am
RISING STARS WORKSHOP (All Ages)
This class is designed for the Competitive figure skater who would like to increase their skills in moves-in-the-feild, footowrk, ice dancing, jumps and spins. Each skater will participate in 60 minute freestyle practice session, 15 minutes on ice edge class followed by a 45 minute on ice workshop. Public session passes included. *Must be an ISI member, and passed Delta.
The semester is 8 weeks $170.00

HOCKEY SKATING SCHOOL CLASSES
for the
2010 Fall SEMESTER
HOCKEY 101
Ages 4 to 14 yrs old. This is a 45 minute class to help prepare for a youth hockey league. Every week skaters will start with warm-up drills, and a review of the previous week. Each class is designed to teach the skaters a new skill in a logical progression. Skaters will learn skills such as proper stick handling, introduction to shooting and passing, and will overall increase their current skating skills. FULL EQUIPMENT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS CLASS. 8 weeks for $130.00
- Wednesday New Day and Time for Fall semester 5:15 - 6:00pm
YOUTH STICK SKILLS **(Not currently in session for this semester)**
This class is for all ages. It is a 45 minute class to supplement skills and ice time for skaters who are currently in a leauge or have completed the Hockey 101 class. Each class will focus on a logical progression of skills focusing on power skating, power puck, and proper stick handling and plays. FULL EQUIPMENT IS REQURIED FOR THIS CLASS.8 weeks for $130.00

ADULT HOCKEY
For adult skaters wanting to learn good basic skating techniques and who eventually may be interested in playing in our Senior League Hockey Program. This class will cover forward and backward crossovers, pivot turns, hockey stops and sculling. SKATERS ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR HOCKEY SKATES FOR THIS CLASS. This is a 30-minute class that meets once a week at the following times:
-Saturday 10:00-10:30am
ADULT STICK SKILLS
This class is designed to improve stick handling, shooting, power, speed and endurance using sport specific drills. This class meets once a week for one hour with our certified instructors. FULL GEAR is required for this class. This is a specialty class. 8 weeks for $130.00

FRISCO SKATING SCHOOL SPECIAL PROGRAMS
ICE SKATING SCOUT BADGE PROGRAM
This workshop is designed to introduce Brownies, Girl and Boy Scouts interested in learning basic ice skating skills and earn their badge of certification. Open to Brownie, Girl and Boy Scouts Troops. Lessons must be set up in advance with the skating program manager. $10.00 per skater.
Class Includes:
· 30-minute lesson
· Skate rental
· Public skating
· Certificate of Completion
· Chaperones are FREE (2 for every 10 skaters)
· Drink and Snack (additional $3.00 per skater)
CREATE A CLASS
If you are interested in a group lesson and have 6 or more skaters, this custom program may be just what you need. You pick the day, any time during a public session, and we will be happy to schedule your group for a semester of lessons.
Class Includes:
· 8 classes - $110.00 per skater
· 30-minute lesson – 25 minutes of instruction
· Includes ice time and skate rental the day of the lesson, and 8 free public sessions
